Yes, I smile when I think of my daughters dating someone like me. I've set the bar pretty high.

Is it too much to want an honest, open, and intelligent woman who can go from spending the day outdoors to dining at an upscale restaurant that evening, followed by throwing on jeans for a night around a warm fire pit and enjoying a glass of wine or cracking open a cold beer?

Chivalry is not dead and I always put family and friends before my own needs. I'm loyal, honest, trustworthy, energetic, open, genuine, hard-working, caring, intelligent, funny, and a night owl/morning person who typically functions on a few hours of sleep. I don't want to sleep the day away, but staying in bed all day certainly has its benefits. ;)

I put myself through college, have a successful IT career, and proudly served throughout the world in the US Air Force from 1991 to 2000. I loved CrossFit, but have a full gym at home and exercise regularly. Nobody is perfect, but I like to stay fit and want someone who also enjoys staying in shape.

My interests and tastes vary greatly and I hope hers will too. From classical to classic rock, hiking for hours or staying in all day, riding ATVs and dirt bikes or going to the symphony at the Creative Arts Center, B&W classics to modern day sci-fi. You get the idea. Coffee houses, craft beers, steak, lobster, sushi, pizza, pasta... it doesn't matter, and I'm actually a pretty good cook. Oh yeah, and I own a campsite at Big Bear Lake.

There is no perfect match. Just that person you click with, can talk with effortlessly, love being around, or can't wait until the next time you see them. It's all about the feelings you get from just knowing they are in your life.

The ideal date for me is when it feels natural. There are no awkward silences unless I'm complimenting her and she's trying to hide the fact she is blushing.
